  • 1 lb ground beef
  • ½ cup chopped onion (about 1 small onion)
  • 1 cup ketchup
  • 2 tsp mustard
  • 3 Tbsp light brown sugar, tightly packed into each spoonful
  • ½ tsp garlic powder
  • Salt and pepper, to taste (¼-½ tsp of each)
  • Pre-sliced hamburger buns (4-6)
  1. Heat a medium-sized skillet on the stovetop on medium-high heat.
  2. Add ground beef and chopped onion.
  3. Cook, stirring frequently and chopping up the beef with the spatula/spoon as you go until meat is browned.
  4. Drain off excess liquid.
  5. Add remaining ingredients, stir well.
  6. Reduce heat to medium-low and simmer, stirring occasionally, for 10 minutes.
  7. Portion meat onto hamburger buns and serve warm.
