15 Minute Sloppy Joes

- 1 lb ground beef
- ½ cup chopped onion (about 1 small onion)
- 1 cup ketchup
- 2 tsp mustard
- 3 Tbsp light brown sugar, tightly packed into each spoonful
- ½ tsp garlic powder
- Salt and pepper, to taste (¼-½ tsp of each)
- Pre-sliced hamburger buns (4-6)
- Heat a medium-sized skillet on the stovetop on medium-high heat.
- Add ground beef and chopped onion.
- Cook, stirring frequently and chopping up the beef with the spatula/spoon as you go until meat is browned.
- Drain off excess liquid.
- Add remaining ingredients, stir well.
- Reduce heat to medium-low and simmer, stirring occasionally, for 10 minutes.
- Portion meat onto hamburger buns and serve warm.
