If you’ve never been able to stick with meal planning long term, then you need to break it down into smaller steps. I created this Aldi meal plan as an easy way for absolutely anyone to be able to set a meal plan for two weeks and stick to it, eating at home.
Update: 4/5/20 I know how stressful it is right now to be cooking 2-3 times a day while you’re also trying to work, “home school”, referee kids, and get your house under control. We created an epic inspiration binder of the easiest cheap meals. These ideas are field-tested by hundreds of thousands of our readers and are guaranteed to help even the most overwhelmed mom stick to a meal plan.
And we’re giving it to you 100% free right now so you can use it to help you get through this time. And bonus: You’ll end up using it long after the pandemic is over.
Fair warning? This isn’t your average meal plan where they tell you to make your own bread or soak beans (insert eye roll here). Because this is the meal plan for the people who have tried and failed at *those kinds* of meal plans dozens of times.
Whether you…
- Suck at making dinner.
- Have no time to cook because of sports practice, unexpected overtime, etc.
- Can never resist the temptation of the drive-thru line.
Then this list is for you!
Cheap, Quick, and Easy Dinners
These super cheap, quick and easy meals from Aldi can get you used to cooking at home with almost no effort or will power needed. Then, you’ll be graduating to other simple meal planning for beginners in no time at all.
Because let’s face it… it’s 2019 and with the constant demands of our families, house and work… Sometimes we just need to hit the easy button and get a list of cheap meal ideas that we can put on auto-pilot for a while.
The best part? It’ll save you a ton of money too! You can get the ingredients for the full two weeks of meals (each meal serves 2 adults and 2 kids) delivered straight to your door for less than $150.00
Instacart now delivers Aldi’s groceries to your door in less than two hours, which saves you an hour of grocery shopping plus the money on all of the impulse purchases that you would have bought had you gone yourself.
The Easiest Aldi Meal Plan Ever
I created this because we had so many emails from readers who could never get past the barriers of meal planning. There was always dishes piled in the sink, they never stuck to the plan, they wasted groceries, or they didn’t have the time to sit down and plan it all out.
The entire purpose of the Aldi meal plan is to get rid of each of those barriers. If you have Instacart available where you live, you can get the groceries delivered straight to your door for less than $150.00
If you have an Aldi, but don’t have Instacart, you can drive to Aldi and get them there. Keep in mind though that many of the convenience foods have national brand competitors that you can easily buy at any national grocery store, although the price will likely be more.
Once you get started, you can take the extra time and money you have from making dinners (because these are quicker than the time it takes you to pick up fast food!), and use that time to start getting other areas of your home under control.
We Reduced our Spending By $23,000/Year With Aldi Meal Plans Like This.
This is the entire premise behind how we reduced our spending by over $23,000 a year (this method changed our life!), paid off over $30,000 in debt and finally got our house clean and under control after years of trying and failing (fun fact: I’ve fought my way out of being chronically disorganized and it’s my mission to help others like me).
Do the easy things to save you time and money first, so you can spend that time and money tackling the more complicated problems.
Keep in mind this list was created to counter fast food addiction and crazy busy schedules. Because 15-minute meals gives you a chance to get used to cooking at home, eating relatively similar food (but creating more opportunities for veggies, and less calories and fat) while spending less than half of what you would on fast food.
Once you get used to cooking at home, it’s easier to expand your horizons and move to 30-minute meals, freezer cooking or traditional meal planning.
We’ve helped transform the lives of over 65,000 people teaching them hacks like this to get control over their money and their lives through step-by-step courses like Hot Mess to Home Success, and in free challenges like the 90 Day Budget Boot Camp.
Which means, that we know whenever you rely on willpower to make a change, it’s just not going to happen.
This is different. Because this actually works.
Not sure if you have an Aldi near you? You can check their store locator here… (But you can also get similar products at your local store… although the prices will likely be higher).
Is This Aldi Meal Plan For You?
I made this Aldi Meal Plan with the idea that it would be perfect for two adults and two younger kids, so you may have to adjust it to fit your family.
A meal plan like this would also work well for…
- College students who need a cheap meal plan that can be made in a microwave or with a hot plate.
- Couples looking for easy meals on a budget for two.
- Families on vacation or staying in a hotel needing simple meals that can be microwaved.
- Cheap and easy dinner ideas or a whole meal plan for kids that babysitters and nannies can make easily.

P.S. If you’re feeling like no matter what you do you can’t get your house under control (not to mention your budget!) we completely understand. If you are sick of spending all day “catching up”, only to have it completely trashed again in a few days, then you should check out our FREE training “Why Your House is Trashed: The 3 Step Shortcut to Transform Your Home For Good With No Extra Time” which will walk you through how to break that cycle once and for all.
The training will walk you step by step through the three foundational routines that will help you manage all aspects of your home no matter how bad your situation is right now.
Implementing this core foundation allows you to work with your personality (and your specific situation) to create a custom plan to manage your dishes, laundry, schedule book, meal planning, budgeting, and a cleaning routine in less than one hour a day. You read that right, ONE HOUR A DAY.
If you want to take it a step further, we can teach you how to automate a ton of stuff in your home (without paying for it), giving you back HOURS of your life (yes, even your crazy life!). Then once you get the foundation set, we move on to more complex skills like meal planning, budgeting, and cleaning.
This is a proven system that’s been field-tested by thousands of people. People that have tried everything and could never keep their house clean or stick to a budget.
Like Jenn, who said “I used to struggle with absolutely everything. I married a man with 4 amazing kids and suddenly found myself drowning in dishes, laundry, and cleaning. There was NEVER enough money to cover everything and cooking meals that everyone would eat was impossible.”
“Then my dad got cancer and I also became his caregiver. The house and my stress level went from bad to worse overnight. I got the Hot Mess to Home Success course in desperation sitting in an ER waiting room at 3 am. I thought there was no way it could really help me since my situation was so unique with 4 step kids and being a caregiver for my Dad.”
“I had probably always been a hot mess, but this was a whole new low for me. Fast forward three months into the course and I meal plan regularly and stick to it (that’s never happened before), I use a planner every day, I have no dishes and laundry backed up (!) and I have significantly more time to do the things that matter (like helping my family battle cancer). You don’t even realize how much of a difference this stuff makes until it becomes your lifeline. I can’t imagine going back to how I used to live and I’m glad I never have to. I’m really grateful for that 3 am purchase!”

This is a great plan! Thanks for pulling it all together. I wish I lived near an Aldi – but I will try to modify it for Walmart…
Jennifer Lane says
OMG, this quick and easy meal plan is brilliant! I struggled with getting dinner on the table every night while I was helping my dad battle cancer. Once I got the hang of planning 15-minute meals the week before, I saved a boatload of time and money!

Huge Aldi’s fans these are great Rosemarie! Thanks for sharing.
Susan Clark says
I have followed you for some time now, Ive tried a few of your items like the grid for meal planning that your hubby made, your budget bootcamp and now this. This by far has been the best meal plan I’ve tried. I did have to kinda double things because Im feeding a family of 5 two adults, two in their 20s college and one 16yr old boy. I still have been able to stretch this plan to 3+weeks. Thats again for making such simple yet complete meals. two of my favorite this was trying a grocery delivery service in my area and the other was that each of the meals had the main course, the side and even abroad if needed. Thanks again. Ill be trying others.

This is such a great resource! ALDI is amazing—I’m so glad we have one near us now! My best ALDI tip is to shop early in the morning on the first day of the sale. You’ll be much more likely to find everything you’re looking for. An ALDI employee shared that with me, and it’s been super helpful! 🙂
